Britain is in the grip of a new ice age. After three years without a thaw, all but one of the inhabitants of an isolated British island have left for the mainland. The piece follows his attempts to continue his daily routine in an environment in which survival can no longer be taken for granted and documents, though his memories, the dissolution of an entire community.
